Dettol Ka dhula, Dettol hand wash

Personally I do not like Dettol as a product.  This product was launched when I had just hit my teens. I was fascinated with the new bottle and concept of liquid soap once when I used it at a friend’s place then. I made sure my mommy got one for our family because the advertisement showed how clean our hands become. But then use after use I could feel that the skin on my palms was becoming harder and that it was itchy after using the Dettol liquid soap. I gave up, I was in late teens then. Mommy dearest was right that these are all fancy products.

Then and now, not much a change in the product except for the fancy bottle becoming fancier. However the advertisement did not capture as much attention because all of us know that the doctors used in those ads are actually actors. So I want to ask Dettol guys how come you guys still aping old ways to advertise your product. I am unsure of where your sales are for the product but your current advertisement is just another ordinary liquid soap one. The actor doesn’t even look like a doctor and there is no other means to capture audiences’ attention. Janata ko fake doctors ka approval dikhane walon, Janata maaf nahi karegi, Well the last line above is just a bit of a humor and of course inspiration is Mr. CM delhi Kejriwal.

Well no credits but only humor for the last line, LOL.

TVS Jupiter – Zyada ka faayda – Amitabh Bachchan

Sometimes the word more is not enough especially for an India customer. Hats off to TVS for coming out with an advertisement that breaks the odd even out. Sometimes it is necessary to endorse a brand ambassador that has values attached to his roots.  Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has just added lots of value to this particular advertisement.

When Mr. Bachchan starts conversing in the Ad, I am quickly glued to the television, I increase the volume as the very first statement catches attention “Zyada, waise tou ye chota sa shabd hai par kuch log aise hain jou kai maainey mei zyaada karte hain.”

Translation – More, this word is a small one but there are people who in reality do a lot of what is expected from them.

The advertisement continues to show how a man or the head of the family does so  much more for his family. I am impressed the way this advertisement brings out the true meaning of responsibility and gives a new anecdote to the word “More”. Somewhere in between the advertisement also features a Muslim man bringing in Ganesha idol for his society, which again to me is a very careful and thought provocating idea. The Army guy who fights at the border leaving his family behind only with memories adds that emotional tinge to this advertisement. A must watch ad is all I can say.

I feel TVS20160223_173131[1] has got it right by targeting not one particular audience but all the age groups. The Men, the women and the youngsters, look out for Jupiter advertisement. I am not promoting the brand but the values, the emotion and the way it captures attention is enthralling in its on way. There is no fake Zyaada ka Vaada/faayda in this advertisement. An apt ad I saw after a long long time.
